It’s been a busy year since my last major update, and I’m excited to share what I’ve been working on. I’ve been focusing on enhancing the core plugin, modernizing the codebase, and making significant strides on adding extensions. I just redesigned my personal website and it’s inspired me to redesign this one too after I release a new version of Million Dollar Script. I’m going to redesign it to look nicer and be easier to navigate, especially for the new documentation and tutorial videos that people often request. I’m also hoping I can even re-launch the old forums. I’ve also been occasionally working on MDS 3.0 when I have time, including a complete migration system from MDS 2, and while 3.0 is still unfortunately not ready for release yet it’s coming along quite nicely and there is a new stable version of 2.5 just around the corner.

Without further ado, let’s dive in to what I’ve been up to and what’s in store for the future!

What I’ve Accomplished since my last post

Since last year some wild things have been going on in my personal life but I’ve managed to survive and I’m still working on this for you. I’m working on rolling out a series of improvements and fixes to make Million Dollar Script more powerful, user-friendly, and stable. You can currently find these on the dev branch or snapshot branches.

Plugin Enhancements & Features:

• • Revamped Admin Experience: I’ve significantly improved several admin areas, including:
    • Approve Pixels: Streamlined UI for a smoother approval workflow.
    • Packages & Click Reports: Refactored for better usability and fixed various issues.
  • Smarter Image Handling:
    • Fixed the IMAGE_AUTO_RESIZE setting, giving you control over whether images stretch to fill pixel blocks or maintain their original dimensions. This helps ensure your grid always looks its best!
    • Improved background image uploading, opacity controls, and added JPG/GIF support.
    • Made uncovered blocks transparent when uploading smaller images for a cleaner look.
  • Enhanced Internationalization: Added Cyrillic-to-Latin slug transliteration for broader appeal.
  • Performance Boosts: Optimized critical functions like output_grid and upload_changed_pixels for speedier performance.
  • Bug Squashing: Addressed numerous bugs related to order processing, WooCommerce sync, AJAX handling, and more to ensure a more reliable experience. A lot of these are small under-the-hood fixes that contribute to a smoother overall experience.

Under-the-Hood Modernization:

• Centralized Options Management: Converted all Admin config fields to the Options page and refactored the Options class to robustly manage key settings. This makes it easier to find the options you’re looking for and makes the plugin more maintainable and prepares it for future integrations.
• Improved Language Scanning: Updated the LanguageScanner for more accurate and efficient translation file (.pot) generation, making it easier to translate Million Dollar Script into any language.
• Tippy.js Tooltip Fix: Resolved an issue where clicking on elements with Tippy.js tooltips would unintentionally navigate away, improving the user experience for interactive elements.

What I’m Actively Working On: The New Extension Server!

My biggest ongoing project is the development of a brand new Extension Server! This is a foundational piece of infrastructure that will unlock exciting new capabilities for Million Dollar Script in the future, allowing for easier integration of new features and services.

What I’ve Been Doing a Lot Of:

Beyond specific features, a significant portion of my effort has been dedicated to:

• Extensive Refactoring: I’m continuously improving the existing plugin codebase, making it more maintainable, stable, and easier to build upon. This groundwork is crucial for the long-term health and evolution of Million Dollar Script.
• Infrastructure Building: Laying the groundwork for the Extension Server has been a major focus, involving setting up the development environment, designing the server architecture, and implementing core functionalities.
• Improving Developer Tooling & Docs: I believe that good tools and clear documentation lead to better software, so I’ve invested time in enhancing these aspects for myself and eventually the wider community.

Roadmap Sneak Peek:

Looking ahead, my primary focus is to:

• Dark Mode: I’m going to add a dark mode toggle for the Million Dollar Script plugin.
• Verify the Upgrade Process: Make sure updating from the previous stable release works flawlessly.
• Test All Functionality: Make sure all existing functionality works as expected.
• Launch the New Extension Server: Get it fully tested, stable, and deployed. This will be a major milestone!
• Develop New Extensions: Once the server is live, I can start building and releasing new extensions that leverage its power. Think new integrations, advanced analytics, and more!
• Continuous Plugin Improvement: I’ll continue to refine the core Million Dollar Script plugin based on your feedback and my own quality standards.
• Explore More Advanced Features: I have many ideas for the future, and the new server architecture will make them more feasible.
• Update the Documentation: I plan to archive the old Million Dollar Script documentation and rewrite most of it completely from scratch for the new version.
• Tutorial Videos: People often request tutorial videos, explaining how to install and use Million Dollar Script.
• Redesign the Website: I’m going to completely redesign the website from scratch.
