GoDaddy Installation Issues

Started March 28, 2011 by Oliver

Hey everyone,I'm using GoDaddy and having quite a few issues.I'm at the install.php script, and sure I'm entering all the paths and locations correctly. The Mysql settings are where the problem lies.Username: Believed to be my hosting account username, ocryan.Password: Known.Database Name: Also... ocryanServer Hostname: I believe it is the name in the attachment. ocryan.db.etcWhen I click install, it gives me this error...Install failed: Cannot connect to database. Client does not support authentication protocol requested by server; consider upgrading MySQL clientThe MySql version being used by godaddy is version 5.0. So I don't think it is an upgrade issue, anyone have any ideas?I'm trying to get this site up and running quickly, as the proceeds received from selling pixels will go to the aid of Japan given the recent tragedy. Thanks!Attachments:

Your mysql server host is probably more like server24.secureserver.net or something. I believe you get it when you create your database in Godaddy.

Actually, when I searched the error a little more I discovered this: http://www.virtu-software.com/ask-doug/QandA.asp you have to run the SQL query there to fix your password.
