Tutorial: How to set permissions on Unix #

This tutorial is written for Windows users who install the Million Dollar Script on Unix based servers. The permissions are set using a free FTP client called ‘FileZilla’. You can get FileZilla from here: http://filezilla.sourceforge.net/

Step 1 #

Fire up FileZilla. FTP into your website. Navigate to your main html documents directory.


Step 2 #

Set the permissions of the admin/temp directory.

Point and right-click the “pixels” directory with your mouse. Choose ‘File Attributes…’ from the pop-up menu.

Check all the checkboxes and click OK.

(Right-click the  pixels folder and select ‘File attributes…’)

(Check all the checkboxes as shown and click OK)

 


Step 3 #

Set the permissions of the admin/temp directory.

Navigate to the Million Dollar Script’s admin/temp and then right-click the “temp” directory with your mouse. Choose ‘File Attributes…’ from the pop-up menu.

Check all the checkboxes and click OK.

(In the admin directory: Right-click in temp/  and select File attributes…)

(Check all the checkboxes as shown and click OK)


Step 4 #

Set the permissions of the config.php file

Right click on config.php and select ‘File Attributes…’ from the pop-up menu.

Check all the ‘Write’ checkboxes and click OK.

(Right click on config.php and select ‘File Attributes…’ from the pop-up menu.)

 

(Check all the ‘Write’ checkboxes and click OK.)
